TYPICAL MEANINGS AND SYMBOLISM OF COLORS IN  ART


Color symbolism in art refers to the use of color as a symbol in various cultures. There is great diversity in the use of color and their associations between cultures and even within the same culture in different time periods. Color symbolism can also be seen as the use of color as a representation or meaning of something that is usually specific to a particular society. Colors hold significance for people around the world. not only do colors influence motion, but they also hold meaning in religion as well.

Visual art is classified as conceptual art or abstract in one method of classification. Both these forms lean heavily on causing an impact on the observer through the shades and tints of different colors. Which are as follows below:

(1) Typical Meaning & Symbolism Of Color BLUE:
The color blue is the most calming and coolest of all colors as it is used to show the color of the sky and since ancient times, has been used to represent the heavens. The color blue can also be used to convey the following:
Peace, Water, Confidence, Harmony, Trust, Cleanliness, Stability, Cold, Power, Maturity, Logic, Culture, Dignity, Compassion, Care, Self Control, Serenity, Responsibility, Freedom, Isolation, Value, Virtue, Transparency etc. Blue is considered the safest color choice around the world, Since it has many positive association. In some countries, Blue symbolizes healing and evil repellence.

The color red has the lowest deviation in the spectrum and signifies Danger, Excitement, Lust, and other feelings that are intense or high high string. Though that for some reasons, It is used or associated with the affairs of the Heart, Passion and Love. (3) Typical Meaning & Symbolism Of Color YELLOW:
Yellow is a color loved by everyone which signifies Joy, illness, Friendship, Optimism, Idealism, Gold, Summer, etc. It is the color of the sun which is the life support for our planet. In western cultures, Yellow is associated with Happiness, Optimism, Cheeriness, Hope, and Joy. The Color yellow is the brightest color that the human eye can see. The color green is a relaxing color that is pleasing to the eye and is said to have healing powers. It is the color of health and nature. As a natural Peacemaker, Green avoids the tendency to be a martyr. In western cultures, green represents Luck, Nature, Awareness, Wealth, Inexperience, Jealousy, etc. Green as the color of plants and grass, is the color of nature and all that is associated with health and growth. White is often used as background on any websites and occasions because it is a plain and simple design and also it is easy to read black or dark text on it. It is a color that encourages and protects as it offers a sense of Peace, Tranquility, Hope, and Comfort. and it also helps to relieve emotional disturbances.
