Different Types Of Drawing Lines You May Need To Know.

BASICS  DRAWING LINES YOU NEED TO KNOW.



 Lines are one of the basic element of art. It is used in many different contexts. It is very important in everything we do, draw, or paint. Listed below are the types of drawing lines.

(1) HORIZONTAL LINES: Horizontal lines are lines that are parallel to the horizon. In art, they are lines that allude to repose.


(2) VERTICAL LINES: Vertical lines are lines that moves up and down without changing direction. In art, they suggest more of a potential for movement.


(3) ZIG-ZAG LINES: Zig-zag lines are lines that moves or can be drawn to any direction. They are made from a combination of diagonal lines.


(4) DIAGONAL LINES: Diagonal lines are lines that strongly suggest dynamic movement and gives more feeling of vitality to a picture.


(5) CURVED LINES: Curved lines are lines that change direction gradually.


(6) CONTOUR LINES: A contour lines is a single line creating an outline of a figure or drawing or an object that can show the height, width, and even details of what is being studied.


(7) ORTHOGONAL LINES: Orthogonal lines are the lines that reach back to and converge at the varnishing point. They can be used in perspective drawing.

(8) HATCHING LINES: Hatching lines are lines going in the same direction.


(9) PARALLEL LINES: Parallel lines are marks created with repeating lines which can be used to create Pattern, Shading, or Texture. They are lines used in shading.


(10) STRUCTURAL LINES: Structural lines are lines used in Animation to ensure figures are balanced and symmetrical.


(11) INTERRUPTED LINES: Interrupted lines are lines that can be used in architectural drawing to show what isn't there. Lines like dotted lines, broken lines, dashed lines etc are a very clear example of interrupted lines. They can also be called hidden lines.
